Did you know that in 2009 over 50 million Americans did not know where there next meal would come from? This translates to around 33 million adults and 17 million children.
How can we fix this? One way to help solve this critical issue is to follow Brazil's No-Hunger program and incorporate locally grown vegetables and gardens to help feed those in need. One great aspect of this program is that it also provides nutrition to these families, something that many soup kitchens cannot provide due to high costs of foods.
With the help of financial aid and local public schools, this can be done and also help teach the next generation of students about helping others and also eating well.
